Vanilla and Lace: Part Two

As you may know I bought two dresses from Vanilla and Lace about a month ago as a present to myself for getting my new job and I am so in love with these dresses! I have worn them both a handful of times already and I wish I could wear them everyday! I love handmade dresses more than anything :)

The navy one is so simple and classic and the red one (which is actually a very dark red in person) is so fun and perfect for a walk in the park or a picnic. I have already worn both of these to work.

Maureen being as sweet as peaches as she is got me a celebration dress as well!

I have been eying this dress forever from modcloth and I was so excited to wear this on my first day of work! Yellow dress+ a white bow= my dream dress.

Unfortunately all of the buttons fell off throughout the day and left tiny holes where the buttons were. It could be that the dress was a little tight and I was busting out (which I was), but I don’t think so! I looked at the reviews after and everyone said that the buttons fell off immediately, wah wah.

I returned the dress as soon as I could, in hopes to get the next size up because I really did love it and this time I would just take off the buttons before they had a chance to fall off, but alas by the time they got my return they were all sold out 

I started browsing through modcloth to see what I wanted instead and the answer was of course everything, but I couldn’t decide and really I just wanted the lemon square dress. On a whim I checked Vanilla and Lace’s shop to see if she had added anything new and she did!

Now came more decisions, but I ended up getting a dress and a blouse for the price of the one dress at modcloth and these pieces are lovingly handmade!

I ordered the Rosemary Blouse and I had the hardest time deciding what color to get, but I chose the sepia dot with a black collar (this will be so cute with a black pleated skirt for work!)

I also ordered the Lucy Pevensie dress, because I can’t resist all of the peter pan collars, they are calling me! For this dress I chose the mustard dot (do I really have to explain?) with a black collar, I’m so excited about this one!

Look at all of the color choices that she has now!

Vanilla and Lace is amazing and I’m so excited that Abi added new pieces to the collection! Her pieces are such beautiful quality and it blows my mind that her pieces are priced so low (although I’m glad they are!). I love homemade!

Happy Birthday Maureen!

Today is Maureen's Birthday, and although we have both have work today, as soon as we get out of work it's party time! Cake and Ice Cream will be had, as well as another dinner this weekend that will feature steaks just for you :)

Maureen, I'm so happy to be a part of your family and I'm so glad we started this business together almost two years ago. We've had so many good late nights together working on patterns and brainstorming as well as being kooky, we make such a good team and I love you! Also, thanks for putting up with me and the RED PEN.

I wish we were back in Donner Lake embroidering on our amazing patio...

I can't wait to take you out tonight and celebrate your birth!

New Shop: Olivesaregross

My super awesome lady friend Olivia just started an etsy shop and nothing makes me happier! I love everything she creates and I'm so glad she is bringing her monsters out into the world :)

I love her About Me: I am influenced by the world around me. I attempt to take that which is scary, and make it joyful. Hopefully there is a monster out there that speaks to you.

I'm Alive!

Hello lovelies!

I'm alive, I'm here, I didn't forget about you I promise!

I have been overwhelmed to say the least since I've started my new job, which has taken a toll on the business/blog. We are finally caught up with orders, we had a mix-up with our PayPal, things we marked shipped didn't stay marked as shipped (which is so confusing and horrible!) so we didn't know what we had shipped and what we hadn’t, but now we are going to go with writing down all orders and check marking them as we send them out. Also, we have been lagging on responding to messages/emails and renewing listings on etsy, but we are back and ready for more loveliness!

After almost two years in business, it's still tricky to keep track of everything, but we love what we do and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! We wish we had more time to dedicate to our business, we dream about doing sew lovely full time and until that day we can only dream :)

We have three new patterns coming out soon that have been in the works for a few months and one of them is my new favorite pattern ever, we are super excited!

I hope all is well with you lovelies and I'm glad to be back in *blogland*!

Cute as Christmas!

Recently my mom and granny came to visit for a few days and it was so nice to be with my family and have a lady party while Johnny was in New York. I wish my mom and granny lived closer so we could embroider all the time and go to tea parties! It made me so happy being able to embroider with my favorite ladies and get to spend time with them!

Isn't my granny just the cutest little thing! Also, while she was here she said "cute as Christmas" about something and it's my favorite thing ever.

Hooray for spending time with family and embroidering like crazy!

110 Spy Camera

I'm not so patiently awaiting this little fella, I am so ready to be a spy! It's a super tiny plastic 110 camera, which I have heard is an ordeal to get processed and scanned but seriously look how tiny and adorable it is. I have to shoot at least one roll!

Take Two- Embroidered Cameo Beauty

Do you remember this little lady? Well, she is one of my favorites recently and as I was about to put her in a frame tons of the beads starting falling off. I wasn't thrilled with the green beads anyway that I originally put on her necklace, so I went for the pearly beads the second time around and I love it so much more! This is a present for my step grandma for her secretary’s desk; I sure hope she likes it.

Embroidered Bison on Wood Plaque

Hi lovelies! I am so behind on posting, but things have been crazy round here! I embroidered this bison for Shane's birthday a few weeks ago and it's the biggest plaque I have used yet. She loved it being the bison lover that she is! I love embroidering wood scenes and putting them on these plaques, I want to do an entire series of them when I have more time.

p.s. In case you haven’t heard I got the job!!!!!!!!!! So I immediately ordered the two vanilla and lace dresses (I can’t wait to get them in the mail!)

Vanilla and Lace Dresses!

I have been crazy town busy recently because I am applying for an internal job where I currently work. I have had six interviews this week and it's been crazy to say the least! But I am extremely excited about it and I find out early next week if I got it or not, (fingers crossed!)

I decided that if I get this job I'm doing one thing for myself (aka buying myself) these two dresses that are beyond cute!

Both dresses are handmade by Abi (who is adorable by the way) of Vanilla Lace. I'm in love with these dresses so much and have been swooning over them since I saw them last week!

I can't even pick a favorite out of the two!
